You’re about to sit down at the patio table, or lay that lovely blanket out on the grass, getting ready for a memorable summer picnic. When all of a sudden, there are little pests buzzing around, and of course I don’t mean those little hungry ones, the real pests with wings and stingers, you know, mosquitoes, flies, gnats, ticks and fleas etc. You can’t keep waving your arms and swatting furiously in the air to keep them at bay with very little success right?

Here are a few natural suggestions:

Mosquito repellent candles

You will need:

  • Pint mason jars
  • Floating candles
  • Lemons
  • Limes
  • Basil
  • Lemongrass essential oil

Instructions:

First slice one lemon and one lime (this will suffice for two candles).

Add a few slices of both to each jar.

Next add a couple of sprigs of basil.

Then fill jars with water up to lid’s threads.

Add 10-15 drops of lemongrass essential oil.

Stir.

Then add floating candle.

Finally, light the candle and enjoy a pest free summer!

SOOTHING SOLUTION FOR Bug stingS/BITES

In a roller or misting spray bottle, combine:

  • 25% tea tree oil
  • 25% lavender oil
  • 50% carrier oil or lotion

To use, just apply where needed, and as often as needed. This really works well, so a little goes a long way.

To your good health,
